Magnified dentistry
Loupes magnification or microscopes are used with all dental work. Dr. Mamoun believes that dental work cannot be optimally performed without magnification, and supplementary head-mounted lighting provides superior lighting compared to the standard overhead dental chair light. He has published research on the subject, including “A rationale for the use of high-powered magnification or microscopes in general dentistry” in General Dentistry (2009).

This patient had fallen on her front tooth and had been walking around for over two decades with a purplish discoloration of the tooth. Dr. Mamoun performed a root canal, then a “walking bleach” procedure, placing a high-concentration peroxide solution inside the tooth. It took only 48 hours for modern therapeutic science to correct the problem! Four more cases from this office are shown with their own before and after photographs.
